Students can earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in one of two ways. First time college students can take the regular track to earn their degree while students who enroll at the school who already have a four year degree can take the fast track program which will allow them to graduate sooner than the regular track students.

The University of Pennsylvania also offers a combined BSN/Master of Science in Nursing degree. For those students who wish to take their nursing education to the highest level it can go there is a Ph.D. in Nursing program available at this institution of higher learning. There are as many as 20 subspecialty certificates for practicing nurses to study for as well. Continuing education courses are also an important aspect of the nursing curriculum at UPenn. These courses are available through the Nursing Center for Professional Development.

The school also has one of the first PACE practices that is owned and operated by any nursing school in the country. The PACE practices deliver necessary care to the frail and the elderly. The school also boosts classrooms that are equipped with the latest hospital-based electronic medical records (EMR) technology.
