You will need to complete an LPN training program that has been approved by the Board of Nursing in Iowa, if you wish to be able to sit for the licensing exam. The course will prepare you to successfully pass the exam and to work well as a licensing practical nurse. Your training will last for about 1 to 1 ½ years. During that time, you will cover many different materials.

The LPN training program will teach you all the background information you need to work as a nurse. You will also have the opportunity to complete clinical training in various different hospitals. You will learn to work everywhere from a surgical floor to a maternity wing. You will learn to work with newborns, children, the elderly and everyone in between.
