The Cochran School of Nursing was established in 1894, making it the region’s first hospital-based nursing school. An affiliate of St. Johns Riverside Hospital, it is mostly noted for its work with patients. Big Apple Training is a primary care training institution located approximately 10 miles from Yonkers in White Plains. CNA, HHA, EKG, phlebotomy, medical coding and billing, physician assistant, and continuing education courses were offered by Big Apple for more than twenty years. The New York State Education Department has granted Big Apple Training a license to operate as a career training (proprietary) school.

It takes a total of 38 lectures and practical sessions to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA). High-quality professors lead classes that may be taken at any time of day or night.
