To graduate, students must complete a 5-credit-hour curriculum that consists of classroom lectures, clinical instruction, and lab sessions over the course of a single term. Students who successfully complete the program are entitled to sit for the certified nursing aide test, the dementia care certification exam, and the home health aide assessment exam.

Students must complete HLHS 100 Introduction to Health Careers, and HLHS 107 CNA Preparation, both of which are Ivy Tech credit-equivalent courses (5 credits). WCC is a part of the Warren Consolidated Community School District and serves students from Greenfield, Mt. Vernon, New Palestine, and Warren Central High Schools.  In addition to computer-aided design training tools, the center offers 20 professional training programs. WCC has a dual-credit program for high school students as well as adult education courses available to everyone.

After finishing the Health Careers curriculum, students in grades 9 through 12 will be qualified to work as Certified Nurses Aids and Pharmacy Technicians. Students may also earn 11 college credits and gain knowledge about healthcare occupations by taking HLHS 100, 101, and 107. There are 30 hours of lecture and 75 hours of clinical practice in the Adult Nursing Assistant Program. Students who fail the final exam (written and skills exams) have the option of retaking the examination. The cost is $65 for the class (for each component).

Classes are at least 10 weeks long, meet on Mondays & Thursdays from 9 am-1:30 pm and all students should be in attendance.  The class schedule is flexible and changes as the semester progress. Additional CPR training is also available. Attendance at all sessions is highly requested in order to foster a sense of unity among the group.

A high school diploma, GED, or HSE is preferred, but not required, by Walker. Before lessons begin, the facility conducts background checks. Health clearance from the clinician is required before you can enroll in this course. The $900 tuition charge is nonrefundable at any stage.

American Heart Association curriculum, Indiana State Department of Health courses, and OSHA regulations are some of RESQ’s main areas of expertise. In addition to online and on-site training, AHA courses are offered for corporations and organizations.

There are two possibilities for scheduling. A 4-week course is held Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and students are expected to attend all sessions. Clinicals begin on the third day of courses and last for about an hour and a half. In the other course, which lasts for five weeks, students meet for classroom lectures every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as clinical sessions every Saturday and Sunday. Classroom lectures are from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and clinicals are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., starting the second week of classes.
