Fort Lauderdale, the biggest city in Broward County, is known as the “Venice of America.”
Although the city has a good standard of life, it is also increasingly aged. 55-64-year-olds make up 14.6% of the population, while those 65+ constitute 16.3% of the community.
Despite the fact that the healthcare industry is the largest employer in the region, there are several opportunities for CNAs to work. Only roughly 5000 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are now employed in the Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, and Deerfield Beach regions combined, a shortage that is expected to develop.
CNA Classes in Fort Lauderdale
Center for Career Training

It takes just a few weeks to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or other patient care specialist through the Center for Career Training. Students benefit from the center’s expertise in providing high-quality instruction.
Patient care and nurse responsibilities are emphasized throughout the manual. Among the subjects covered in this course are an overview of the health care industry, how to become a medical assistant, and how to learn about the bodily systems and prevalent diseases.
Lectures and clinical laboratory teaching are separated in the classroom. The 95-hour course may be taken during the day, at night, or online. On Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, four weeks of day sessions are held. Evening lessons are held from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. About five and a half weeks are required to complete the night courses. In contrast, online courses are only scheduled for a few hours or even half-days, and students must still go to the center for hands-on and laboratory instruction.
Graduates don’t need to take any further courses or get any additional degrees. Non-native English speakers may also apply for admission to the institution and work toward the relevant qualifications there. Students’ preparation for state licensing exams is greatly aided by the nursing assistant refresher course.
It’s free to enroll, and students may be cared for at home, in a nursing home, or in the hospital if they need it. A list of agencies is available on the center’s website to aid with job placement.
Call (954-731-7429) or visit the Center for Career Training’s website above for more information.
Beacon Hill Career Training

Beacon Hill Career Training has been around since 2011, and its only mission is to prepare students for career success. Beacon Hill’s facilities, including classrooms and laboratories, are of the highest standard. Using their accredited on-site testing facilities, they also make it easier to sit for certification exams.
To help students prepare for the state licensing test, Beacon Hill’s Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Exam Prep curriculum goes into great depth on state healthcare laws and the 21 abilities required for the Clinical Skills Test. There are skilled professors teaching the theoretical and educational aspects of the curriculum. Theoretical and practical evaluation manuals are both up-to-date.
There are evening, weekend, and weekday classes available. Monday through Wednesday, 10 am. to 1 pm. are the hours for weekday courses. In the evenings, courses run from 6 pm to 9 pm Monday through Wednesday. During the weekend, sessions are only offered on Saturdays, from 10 a.m to 2 p.m Weekend sessions are four weeks long, while daytime and evening classes are two weeks long.
Students may enroll in the 25-hour course for $135 upfront and pay $269 in total. Unspecified expenses are not included in the price.

Atlantic Technical College

This institution of higher learning was established in 1973. The School Board of Broward County and the Florida Department of Education have both recognized Atlantic Technical College as a public institution that offers secondary and postsecondary education.
The college’s articulated Nursing Assistant degree is within the Health Sciences occupational cluster. In a variety of contexts, the program is designed to provide basic health care. Medical terminology, sickness (particularly blood-borne disease), infection management, and basic reading skills are only a few of the subjects taught in the curriculum.
The course is around 165 hours long and lasts for approximately one and a half months. Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., classes are conducted at the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Campus. Nurse Assistant Orderly (Articulated) training made up 75 hours of the 165-hour curriculum, which included 90 hours of fundamental healthcare professional training.
There is a course orientation held on the main campus of the institution to clarify the prerequisites and provide information on the background checks and drug tests that are required.
$462 is the cost of tuition. Lab charge $33; quarterly registration $20; yearly student activity fee $10; liability insurance $13; and accident/health insurance $9; additional fees. Students will have to pay much more than just $547 in tuition and fees. Despite the fact that there are no additional fees for textbooks, uniforms, or other necessities, there are still certain expenditures.
Visit the ATC’s website or call them at (754) 322-2800 for further information.
One-Stop Health & Training Center

Students interested in working in healthcare may take advantage of the short-term training programs offered by the One-Stop Health & Training Center. The training programs help you prepare for your unique work and ensure that you’re providing the finest possible care to your patients.
CNAs who work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals benefit from the center’s Nursing Assistant curriculum, which teaches them about many tasks and functions. Students will learn how to help with diagnostic tests and technical treatments as well as charting, recordkeeping, and providing direct patient care as part of the curriculum.
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including daily living assistance, vital signs monitoring, mobility skills, CPR, care and security practices, nutrition and diet, infection prevention and control, care for patients of a specific age, BLS, systems in the body, symptom control, disease management, and communication skills.
Professionals and veterans in the healthcare industry teach the classes. Students are given the opportunity to participate in extra training programs at no additional expense. You may learn about HIPPA, OSHA, HIV/AIDS, and domestic abuse. You can also learn how to take care of yourself while you’re sick and how to avoid medical mistakes.
Contacting the center directly is the best way to learn about class availability, costs, schedules, durations, and other criteria.
Instead of a certificate that can only be used for a certain state, students who complete the program get a diploma that may be used throughout the country.
Please call 954-835-5945 or visit their website for more information.
Marlene’s Training Center
CNA classes are also available at Marlene’s Training Center. In order to prepare students for a job as a nursing assistant, this school was created. With the help of textbooks, medical equipment, and supporting staff, students may practice key nursing skills in a low-stress classroom environment. With this program’s help, you’ll be well-prepared to find work as a nursing assistant in the healthcare industry when a position becomes available. Students are being taught in the classroom, in a simulation lab, and in a clinical setting under the watchful eye of teachers who have extensive experience in this sector. They are able to put what they’ve learned in the classroom into practice in the clinical situation.
A high school degree or GED equivalent is required for admission to this course. A criminal record check, TB test, and drug test are all elements of the admissions procedure. They are all necessary. Applicants to the CNA program at Marlene’s Training Center must meet a quota and those who do not are forced to wait until the next season. Personal attention is available in small class sizes. The earlier you apply, the more likely you are to get accepted.
The cost of becoming a certified nursing assistant is $440. CPR and HIV/AIDS/OSHA training is included in the $50 registration cost. Graduates of the program are subsequently responsible for covering the fees of their certification exam and additional expenses.
American Red Cross – Florida

There is a well-known CNA training course offered by the American Red Cross in Florida. CNA lessons are being offered at this health care facility, and students may take the certification test and serve as nursing assistants in a variety of settings after graduation. This program’s classes are intentionally kept small so that students may get more one-on-one attention. Instructors are licensed and have a wealth of expertise in the field of nursing. After classroom teaching, students are given the opportunity to practice their skills in a clinical environment. As a result, they’ll have a better idea of what it’s like to work as a CNA.
In addition, the American Red Cross CNA program offers students a strong grounding in the healthcare industry. Students are taught a wide range of nursing subjects, including emergency procedures, the art of caring, the principles of nursing, patient care, effective communication, and many more. It includes simulated lab training and individual coaching in a variety of nursing skills, so students will be well equipped for the certification test. High school graduation or GED equivalent, a criminal background check clearance, a drug screening, and a TB test are all required before a student may be accepted into the course.
Scholarships and grants are available via the American Red Cross for CNA training. Students may enquire about these possibilities before the start of class, although they may not be accessible at all times.
CNA Classes in Pembrooke Pines
In Southeast Florida, Pembroke Pines is a major city. There are around 6 million people living in the region. The healthcare business employs 18 percent of the workforce in the metropolitan region, although there are only 23,920 nursing assistants in the area.” This equates to 9.5% of the total number of employees.
CNAs may not be in high demand in the area right now, but that will change soon. Pembroke Pines has a senior population of 168,587 people or 14.8% of the total. Only a quarter of the population is under the age of 18, and the median age is 39.5.
The fact that CNAs may work in a variety of healthcare settings and execute a wide range of nursing tasks, from the most basic to the most specialist, is one factor contributing to the increase in demand.
Abba Health Care Training

In an effort to help the needy, Abba provides health care training to people who previously felt they couldn’t go to college or have a better job. ABBA also boasts of superior and sensitive training techniques that aid even individuals who have tried and failed multiple times to become CNAs.
A benefit of Abba Healthcare Training’s CNA training course is the small class size and focus on each student. When students are in the classroom and clinical practice, they get the complete focus they need to learn and grow. In addition, the facilities are well-equipped and suitable for learning, giving participants a fantastic chance to become qualified healthcare practitioners. A high school degree or GED equivalent is not required for entry into the CNA course, but students must pass a criminal background check and undergo health exams such as a drug test and a TB test.
CNA training is only $397, which covers both the registration and testing fees. Books, clothes, medical supplies, and transportation costs will be the responsibility of the students. Scholarships and grants may be available to help pay for the Abba Healthcare Training CNA course.
It is Abba’s most important program. This is a one-on-one class where students learn at their own speed and at their own level with well-prepared teachers. Fast learners may complete the course in one week instead of the typical two.
Evening, weekend, and evening classes are also available. Classes run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the morning. Class times are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekday evenings. Weekend sessions are conducted on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 pm to 9 pm and 9:30 am to 11:30 am respectively.
An all-inclusive training program costs $397 and comes with a complimentary one-hour review session the day before your certification test. Additionally, Abba will handle and transmit the state exam application. The institution’s graduates pass the state CNA test 95% of the time, but if that doesn’t happen, they may go back to school for free to get the training they need. The state test cost of $140 must be paid in addition.
Abba HealthCare Training may be reached by phone at 954-418-2193 or through email at info@abbahealthcaretraining.com.
