Since then, Abeam was able to acquire accreditations and approval from the Texas Health and Human Services – Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).

Day classes are for four weeks with classroom lecture Monday thru Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Day clinicals are Monday to Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Students can select between evening classes with daytime clinicals (with a program length of four weeks) or evening classes with evening clinicals (five weeks). Classroom lecture for evening classes and evening clinicals meet Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Evening clinicals are Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Weekend classes are for eight weeks with lecture classes and clinicals on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The minimum age of admission is 16 years old (with a written parental consent). Other requirements include a clean criminal record, government-issued ID, Social Security card, TB test, and flu shots (for fall & winter).

Program costs include the $799 tuition fee, $25 registration fee, $45 worth of books and supplies, and a $37 background check. The $104 state certification fee is payable to a third-party testing facility. Abeam doesn’t require students to pay upfront. They only need to pay the registration fee during the admission process.

Austin Community College District has campuses and locations that offer Certified Nurse Aide training programs. These campuses and locations within Austin include the Highland Campus and Eastview Campus.

The CNA training program is available under the college’s Continuing Education Programs. This entry-level course equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills necessary in providing basic nursing care in long-term care facilities. The skills covered include communication, observation, reporting, patient safety, and patient rights. There is also an emphasis on acquiring the necessary skills and attitude in becoming a member of a healthcare team. The program has two components: NURA 1001 – Nurse Aide for Health Care Organizations and NURA 1060 – Clinical.

Austin Community College offers a Nurse Aide training program which can be completed in seven weeks. Students in this healthcare course will go through 100 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on clinical rotations, which allows them to learn various nursing concepts skills that help them render a safe and effective nursing services. The Central Texas Nurse Network’s Nurse Aide training program is designed to provide quality training to students who want to start a career in the healthcare field. The program provides a solid foundation in nursing, and it combines classroom instruction, skills training, and hands-on clinical practicum. Students will be prepared for an entry-level CNA position in hospitals, home health care, nursing home, clinics, and other medical facilities. They will also gain sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience in preparation for the certification exam. Eze Learning Center offers market-ready career skills training in the field of healthcare. Eze wants to bring healthcare educational opportunities to Austin and surrounding areas. The school also has concurrent approvals from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) (later moved to Texas Health and Human Services (HHS)) and the TWC.

The Nurse Aide training program of Eze Health Careers provides 100 hours of training which includes 60 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of clinical rotation in a nursing facility. The comprehensive course is designed to prepare students for the certification exam and equip them with skills, knowledge, and competencies required to care for the residents or patients in a long-term care facility, hospital, or home health care. Graduates will learn and understand the concepts and theory of the human body and its function and will be able to assist patients in maintaining functional independence as soon as possible. They will also be trained in communication skills, managing safety, respecting patient’s rights, and reporting of incidents or events.

The clinical portion of the program involves the use of medical equipment, materials, knowledge on special procedures, and regulations on pertinent laws that are specified by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Students who completed the program and meet the specific requirements of the school will receive a certificate of graduation and will be qualified to take the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation (NATCEP) for registration as Certified Nursing Assistants.

The minimum age requirement is 16 years old. Applicants must meet state requirements, must not be listed as unemployable in the HHS’s Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR), should not have revoked status under the Texas Nurse Aide Registry (NAR), no criminal convictions, have proof of immunizations, and a clean TB test result (within the year). The tuition cost of the CNA training program does not include books, uniforms, and medical supplies. Thus, students have to provide their own.

Registration is available online. Applicants need to complete the enrolment form and pass the necessary requirements. For students below 18 years old, both student and parent/guardian should sign in the enrolment form. Eze requires students to settle any balances before classes begin. Students need to purchase their own uniform (scrubs), close-toed shoes, and watch with a second hand. Goodwill Central Texas offers an affordable and comprehensive nursing assistant training program which allows you to take the certification exam and work as a CNA in Austin, Texas. Enrollees should also undergo and pass the criminal background check, drug screening, and TB testing.

Goodwill Central Texas accepts only a few students per program to promote a personalized instruction and ensure that graduates will become competent and confident in providing care to their patients. The instructors are all licensed nurses who have years of experience in the clinical field. Moreover, students who wish to study at a low cost can check the school’s financial aid office to avail a scholarship or grant. Although these programs are often not available, it is best to check whether a scholarship or grant can be used to study a CNA training program at Goodwill Central Texas.

Rosy Nurse Aide Training Program

Rosy Nurse Aide Training Program provides a state-approved healthcare course for aspiring nursing assistants. The program can be completed in a few weeks, and graduates become eligible for the state certification exam.
