There are over a dozen state approved LPN training programs in Maryland. These programs are often offered at community colleges. You will need to meet all entrance requirements to enter into a training program. The program will prepare you not only for your career as an LPN but also to sit for the necessary licensing exam.

A lot of different material will be covered during LPN training. You will learn about the biological sciences. There will be nursing fundamental courses. The course will provide you with the background information you need to be a good nurse. There will then be clinical experience where you will rotate and work in many different departments.

Allegany College of Maryland

Allegany College of Maryland is situated right next to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center on Willowbrook Road. The Nursing program at Allegany College is a 2-year ladder-style course designed to meet the medical, technical, and emotional needs of the healthcare industry.

Baltimore City Community College

Right in front of Wash Water Lake, Baltimore City Community College is located at the junction of Liberty Heights Avenue and Druid Pak Drive. The curriculum of the Nursing program at Baltimore City Community College is based on physiological and psycho-social sciences along with nursing concepts.

Carroll Community College

To reach Carroll Community College first turn into Sykesville Road from New Washington Road and then drive onto Old Washington Road; the college will be on your right. Cecil Community College

Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk Campus

Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk Campus is located right next to Franklin Square Hospital in the Rossville area. The Nursing program at Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk is a 12-month 3-semester course with a balanced combination of classroom and clinical instruction.

Chesapeake College

Chesapeake College is very accessible as it lies right in the middle of three roads, i.e. Ocean Gateway, Wye Mills Road, and College Drive. The MGW Nursing Program at Chesapeake College is a comprehensive course which prepares the students to work as beginning staff nurse in acute care.

Frederick Community College

Traveling on Opossumtown Pike, you’ll see Frederick Community College right opposite the Monocacy Middle School. The Practical Nursing program at Frederick Community College is a 2-year 43 credit hour course, with the second year dedicated exclusively to clinical experience.

Hagerstown Community College

Prince George’s Community College is located right at the junction of Largo Road and Campus Way South. The 2-year RN program at Prince George’s Community College makes the students eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exams. 90% students from Prince George’s pass the exam in the first attempt.

Sojourner-Douglass College

Sojourner-Douglass College is located near the intersection of North Central Avenue and Orleans Street. The LPN program at Sojourner-Douglass College is a 45 credit hour course in which students are admitted only after taking a pre-nursing course at the college.

Wor-Wic Community College

Wor-Wic Community College is located right at the junction of Campus Drive and Walston Switch Road just before Barnes & Noble. The Nursing program at Wor-Wic Community College is a 2-semester and 2 summer sessions course with a pre-nursing course as prerequisite to admission.
