There are various requirements that you must meet if you want to enter into a Hawaii LPN training program. The program must be one that has been approved by the state. You will need to hold a high school diploma and can be required to have completed specific courses in high school. Otherwise, you can be asked to complete those courses at a college level before entering into a program.

Hawaii Community College
Hawaii Community College is a dynamic academic institution geared towards providing a top-rate education at an affordable tuition cost. Located on the magnificent “Big Island”, students are given the opportunity to partake in challenging classes amongst some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. Students who plan to work in the nursing field can chose between two paths of study. For those who would like to become an RN by earning a degree, an Associate of Science program is offered. To complete this degree, 72 credit hours must be earned. A LPN certificate can be earned in 40 credit hours.
Maui Community College
Maui Community College boasts a vibrant and modern campus that reflects the beauty of the natural surroundings. For students who plan to study nursing, many levels of study are offered. Maui Community College offers a Nurse Assistant program, a PN Certificate program, an Associate of Science (for those choosing a RN route) and a Bachelor of Science. There Nurse Assistant program is a simple 6 credit course. After certain requirements are met, students can chose to apply for the PN or RN program. The PN program is 44 credits long and will takes four semesters to complete. An Associate of Science requires two additional semesters of coursework for a total of 73 credits. For a Bachelor of Science, a student must complete 120 credit hours.
Kauai Community College
Kauai Community College is located just off Kaumualii Highway, very near to Starbucks. All Nursing programs at Kauai Community College are built on a career ladder concept. The PN program is a 3-semester course at the completion of which the students can either appear for the NCLEX-PN exams or continue on to the RN program. The RN program is a further 2-semester course at the completion of which the students can take the NCLEX-RN exams. For both the programs different instructional facilities are utilized including acute care facilities, acute psychiatric care facilities, and acute and long-term care facilities.
