You will need to attend an LPN training program that has been approved by the state of Arkansas if you wish to become a licensed practical nurse. After completing the course, you will also need to pass the LPN licensing exam. LPN schools will require applicants to pass an entrance exam and are likely to have various other requirements for acceptance into an LPN program.

Many different subject areas will be covered during LPN training. You will learn about physical and mental health issues. The course will cover maternity care as well as surgical care. You will learn about providing pediatric care as well as care for seniors. Pharmacology will also be part of any LPN curriculum. There will be time spent in the classroom before you begin your clinical studies and rotations.

Arkansas Northeastern College

Arkansas Northeastern College has five charming campuses throughout Northeastern Arizona that feature intimate classroom sizes, meaningful multicultural experiences and education that is geared toward real life application. Students can chose to matriculate at Blytheville, Burdette, Osceola, Leachville, and Paragould locations. Three separate educational tracks can be taken, depending on what professional level a nursing student would like to achieve. Their basic Nursing Assistant program requires 8 weeks of coursework. To complete the Practical Nurse certification, a student must successful train for 13 months. Arkansas Northeastern College has two options for students who want to earn an Associate Degree in Applied Science Degree. A traditional program ADN and a LPN to RN Option are available. Both programs require two years of coursework to be completed.

Arkansas State University

Arkansas State University has a vibrant student life, leading academic programs and many local amenities. Students who plan to study Nursing can do so in a variety of educational programs. Perspective students can earn an Associate, Bachelor or Master Degree. Arkansas State University offers LPN-to-AASN or LPN-to-BSN options, as well as RN-to-BSN options for those who are interested. An accelerated Bachelor degree program is open to students who are seeking their 2nd degree. Programs granting Master Degrees in many nursing specialties can be pursued at ASU. Specialties include Adult Health Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Educator, Nurse Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Anesthesia. All programs require approximately 45 credit hours to complete.

Arkansas State University Newport

Arkansas State University Newport is located at Malcolm Avenue just where it meets Ray Street. For a Nursing program at Arkansas State Newport one has to complete at least 48 credit hours in core curriculum courses and is exposed to class instruction as well as clinical experiences.

Baptist Health Schools Little Rock

Baptist Health Schools Little Rock can easily be reached by taking Exit-4 (Colonel Glenn Road) on I-430 South and driving just half-a-mile further. The PN program at Little Rock is an eleven-and-a-half month course and can also be taken online by a limited number of students.

Black River Technical College

Black River Technical College is located on Highway-304 East between College Drive and Airport Road. The PN program at Black River is a three semester course. Placement in the course in determined by ACT, ASSET, or SAT test scores.

Cossatot Community College UA

Cossatot Community College UA is located on College Drive in the DeQueen area. The Nursing program at Cossatot is offered in two formats, an 11-month Day Program and an 18-month Evening Program. Both programs meet the requirements of Arkansas State Board of nursing.

Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute

Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute is located on Newcastle Road which can be reached by taking Exit 242 on Interstate 40. The innovative PN program at Crowley’s Ridge comprises of role playing, demonstrations, and critical thinking exercises for acute care settings.

National Park Community College

National Park Community College is located on Rockefeller Drive, midway between Bull Bayou Road and Mid America Boulevard. The PN program at National Park is either a 12-month full-time or a 24-month part-time program that prepares the students for National Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses.

North Arkansas College

North Arkansas College is located near Woodland Park on Pioneer Drive. North Arkansas College offers LPN to RN Bridge program which offers students 12 months of intensive study on their way to becoming Registered Nurses.

Ouachita Technical College

Ouachita Technical College is located near the intersection of Page Avenue and State Highway 9. The PN at Ouachita Technical is a three semester program in which students are trained in direct and primary nursing care at cooperating clinical facilities.
